To enable headphone detection click on Start, All Programs, Creative then Sound Blaster Audigy... and then on Creative Audio Console.

1. Click the Headphone Detection tab.
2. Optimize 3-D effects for headphones when using headphones. This option applies 3-D surround effects to the signal that is sent to the headphones.
3. Automatically mute speakers will mute the speakers as soon as the headphones are connected.

In order to set headphone detection on the X-Fi range of cards, click on Start, All Programs, Creative then Sound Blaster X-Fi and on Creative Audio Console.

1. Click the Headphone Detection tab.
2. Automatically enable headphone settings. The speaker settings are automatically enabled for headphones when they are connected and defaults to the original setting when disconnected.
3. Automatically mute speakers will mute the speakers as soon as the headphones are connected.
